Terms and community rules
The agreements for using Socialitea.

1. Who are we?
Socialitea is a trading name of Back2Basic Lifestyle BV, Zuivelstraat 45, 1445 MJ Purmerend, the Netherlands. Chamber of Commerce 56626916, VAT NL852223547B01. Email: info@socialitea.com.
2. When do these terms apply?
These terms apply to everyone who uses socialitea.com, creates an account or buys something. By creating an account or making a purchase, you agree to them.
3. Your account
You must be at least 16 years old. Use your own, correct details and keep your password secret. An account is personal. You are responsible for what happens with your account.
4. Community rules
Socialitea is a place for tea lovers. That's why:
Not allowed are: offensive, harassing, discriminatory, threatening or sexual content; spam and advertising; content that is illegal or infringes the rights of others; sharing other people's personal data; photos of others without their consent; and medical claims or advice that could put others at risk.
If you see something that isn't right, use the 'Report' button. If you don't want to see someone anymore, use 'Block'.
We may remove content and block accounts if the community rules or these terms are broken.
5. What you post
Notes, photos and messages you post remain yours. You give us permission to show them on Socialitea free of charge as long as they are online. You are responsible for what you post and confirm that you're allowed to share it.
6. Products and prices
On Socialitea you can buy: 10 Socialitea pairings (€9.95), a herbal tea recipe via the Herbal Tea Finder (€2.50 per request) and the complete Herbal Tea Collection as a PDF in four languages (€15.00). All prices include VAT. You pay via Mollie. Your purchase is delivered digitally to your account straight after payment. Socialitea pairings do not expire. You can also buy a gift card (see 7b).
The PDF and recipes are for personal, non-commercial use only. You may not resell, share or publish them.
7. Right of withdrawal
For digital content delivered immediately, the 14-day right of withdrawal lapses if you explicitly agree in advance to immediate delivery and acknowledge that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal. That's why we ask you to tick this before every payment. You'll receive a confirmation of this by email.
If something doesn't work as promised, for example a download that fails, contact us. We'll fix it or refund you.
7a. Tastings
Free tastings: you can register and cancel until the start via the site. Paid tastings: you buy a ticket via Mollie and your registration is final once the payment is received. For tastings on a fixed date there is no right of withdrawal. If you can't come, you won't get a refund; let us know and we'll see if someone else can take your place.
If we cancel a tasting, we'll let you know and refund you automatically. The video link for an online tasting is personal; don't share it. If you have an allergy or dietary need for a tasting on location, let us know in advance.
7b. Gift cards and discount codes
A gift card costs €10, €25 or €50 and is valid for 2 years from purchase. The recipient redeems the code on socialitea.com under Gift cards; the amount is then added to their account as gift balance. Gift balance can be spent in parts on Socialitea pairings, herbal tea recipes, the Herbal Tea Collection and paid tastings, but not on a new gift card. Gift balance cannot be exchanged for cash.
A discount code can be used once per account, within its validity period and for the products it applies to. A discount code and gift balance cannot be combined in one order. If we cancel a tasting you paid for (partly) with gift balance, that part is returned as gift balance.
8. No medical advice
Socialitea does not give medical advice or make diagnoses. The herbal tea recipes are meant as support; we don't promise they will help. Herbs can also cause side effects and affect how medicines work. Always read the warnings and consult your doctor or pharmacist first, especially if you're pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication or for children. For serious or persistent symptoms, see a doctor. In an emergency, call your emergency number.
9. AI suggestions
Pairings, pairing recipes, the pick from your tea cupboard, the Herbal Tea Finder and the newsletter are created with AI and may contain errors. Advice made with AI is labelled as such. Check recipes yourself, for example for allergies and for safe preparation of meat, fish and poultry.
10. Liability
We do our best to make Socialitea work well and safely, but we can't guarantee the site will always be available and error-free. As far as the law allows, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the last 12 months. We are not liable for indirect damage. This does not limit your statutory rights as a consumer and does not apply in case of intent or gross negligence.
11. Termination
You can delete your account yourself at any time via My profile → Edit profile → Delete account. Unused Socialitea pairings and gift balance are then lost. We may terminate or block your account if you break these terms.
12. Complaints
Have a complaint? Email info@socialitea.com. We respond within 14 days.
13. Changes
We may change these terms. The new version applies from the moment we publish it on the site. We'll let you know about major changes.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by Dutch law. If you live in another EU country, you keep the protection that the mandatory consumer law of that country gives you.
